Tournament Volunteers Needed

9th Annual Michelle Vandale Memorial Spirit of Winter Tournament December 5,6,7, 2014

This is tournament is hosted annually by FVRA and open to all divisions U10 to Masters. Teams from all over BC attend this tourney and we can have up to 50 teams attending every year. Fraser Valley has one of the largest Ringette membership in BC and this tournament showcases our commitment to our children and the sport of Ringette.

The Spirit of Winter will have a variety of events such as high calibre Ringette exhibition games - free for all people to watch. Skills Competitions, U10/U12 Jamboree, Hugh Raffle Baskets, 50/50, lots of Ringette activities. And of course, the games for the Gold medal. But we cannot make it a great tournament without volunteers! We need help organizing this tournament. So do you have a few hours to spare? Do you want to make Ringette your child’s favourite sport? Are you are passionate about having the best tournament in BC?? Come out to see how you can contribute!

We will need help in the following areas:

  1. Sponsorship and Business Ad Fundraisers (2-3 persons)
  2. Registrars (1-2 persons) 3. Raffle Basket Co-ordinators (1-2 persons)
  3. Medals/Banners Co-ordinator (1 person)
  4. Player/Coaches Tournament Giveaways Co-ordinators (1-2 persons)
  5. Volunteer Co-ordinator (1-2 persons)
  6. Game Scheduler (1-2 persons)
  7. Skills Competition Co-ordinator (2-3 persons)
  8. RIC Referee Co-ordinator (1 person)
  9. Arena Managers/Hosts for Sportsplex, George Preston and Aldergrove Arenas (6-7 persons)
  10. Spirit of Fun Events Co-ordinators for U10/U12 (2-3 persons)

Drop in for an information session Thursday, September 25th 6:00-7:00pm, at the Twin Rinks Arena, meeting room (upstairs) by the Pub lobby. Note that it is mandatory for all families to volunteer up to 5 hours of their time towards association events such as Come Try Ringette and the Spirit of Winter Tournament. By filling any of the positions, you will have completed your obligations for the season before the tournament has started and can enjoy your time, while others work at the tournament.
